Rukmani Riar IAS Success Story: She took no coaching for UPSC exam preparation and depended on self-study. Rukmani secured All India Rank 2 in UPSC in 2011 and fulfilled her dream of becoming an IAS officer.
IAS officer Rukmani Riar: Students prepare for many years to appear in the Civil Services Examination. Many candidates take coaching to prepare for the exam, and some rely on self-study. Today we are going to talk about how Rukmani Riar, a resident of Gurdaspur, Punjab, was ready for the UPSC exam without any coaching and fulfilled her dream of becoming an IAS officer by securing second position in the whole of India in her very first attempt.
Rukmani Riar could have been a better student in the beginning and failed in the sixth class. After dying, he did not dare to go in front of his family and teachers and was ashamed to think what other people would think. Due to this, she was under stress. After several months, he pulled himself out of it and made fear his motivation.
Rukmani Riyar’s early studies were from Gurdaspur. After this, she went to the Sacred Heart School in Dalhousie in the fourth grade. After the 12th class, Rukmani graduated in Social Science from Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. After this, he obtained a post-graduation degree in social science from Tata Institute in Mumbai and won the gold medal.
After her post-graduation, Rukmani Riar interned with NGOs like Ashodya in Mysore and Annapurna Mahila Mandal in Mumbai, apart from the Planning Commission. Meanwhile, Rukmani turned towards civil service, and she wanted to appear for the UPSC exam.
After the internship, Rukmani Riar started preparing for the Civil Services Examination and achieved success on the very first attempt through hard work. She did not take any coaching to prepare for the UPSC exam and depended on self-study. Rukmani secured All India Rank 2 in UPSC in 2011 and fulfilled her dream of becoming an IAS officer.
For UPSC exam preparation, Rukmani Riar prepared from class 6 to 12th NCERT books; for interview preparation, she read newspapers and magazines daily. Rukmani appeared in many mock tests to reduce the mistakes during the exam. Rukmani also solved the papers of previous years.
